Phy207 Assigned Exercises and Problems

Problems to be turned in for grading are in RED.


Exercise 1:  Find my home page on the internet and email it (or its location) to me.

Exercise 2:  Email me to say whether you prefer multiple-choice or "essay" exams, and whether you prefer exams Thursday evening (5:00-6:25) or Friday in-class, as scheduled now.

Exercise 3:  Email to me the URL (i.e. location) of my notes on "Obtaining the electric field for a spherical shell".  Of course, it would be very good of you to also read the notes!

Exercise 4:  Find "The Integrator" on the web and email its location to me.

Exercise 5:  Check to see if the dipole potential is on the exam formula sheet.  If not, email the correct result for the potential to me and indicate whether you would like to have it included with the other formulas.

Exercise 6:  Find an applet on the internet which converts resistor color codes into numerical values in Ohms.  Email its location to me.

Exercise 7:  Email to me the maximum power output of the generators in Hoover Dam.
