I will eventually get around to writing a new improved version of xxxCruncher. The e-print archives now deliver PDF version 3 files which can be read by Adobe Acrobat. There is still a necessity for a Mac helper which can handle compressed postscript. For this reason I will rewrite xxxCruncher. August 25, 1998
xxxCruncher is a web browser helper for the Macintosh. xxxCruncher processes uncompressed/compressed postscript of MIME type "application/postscript" and passes it to an external postscript viewer.
xxxCruncher also has additional functionality for processing TeX source files from the xxx.lanl.gov e-print archives or other archives using the same software.
For more information on xxxCruncher you can download the README file.There are three different versions of xxxCruncher. There is a MacPerl droplet which is about 25KB (stuffed and binhexed) and requires that you get a copy of MacPerl (roughly 2.8MB expanded). There are two compiled runtime versions of the droplet. One for the PowerPC and one for 68K Macs. These versions do not require MacPerl.
